Policy / Payments
How you pay, and what happens to the details when you do.
Last updated 12 August 2026 · Governing law: England and Wales
Currency and tax
- Every price on this site is displayed and charged in GBP (£) — Pounds Sterling.
- Prices include UK VAT at the prevailing rate. The VAT element is itemised on your order confirmation.
- Delivery is added at checkout and shown separately before you commit. UK tracked delivery is £4.95, free over £75.
- If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank converts at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. We have no part in that and receive none of it.
- Orders shipped outside the UK may attract import duty and local tax on arrival, payable by the recipient. See delivery.
How you can pay
Checkout accepts major credit and debit cards, and the digital wallets your device offers at the point of payment. The exact set of methods shown depends on your country, your device and your card issuer.
We do not accept cheques, bank transfers arranged by email, gift cards, cryptocurrency or cash on delivery. If someone contacts you claiming to be us and asks you to pay by any of those, it is not us — tell us at support@pajewelleryuk.shop.
How card data is handled
- This site is served entirely over HTTPS, with HTTP Strict Transport Security enabled. Look for the padlock in your browser before entering anything.
- Card details are entered into a hosted field supplied by our PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment provider and are transmitted directly from your browser to that provider.
- Your full card number never reaches our servers and we never store it. We receive only a transaction reference, the result, the card brand and the last four digits — enough to reconcile your order and process a refund, and nothing more.
- Payments are authenticated with 3-D Secure (Strong Customer Authentication) where your issuer requires it, which is the step where your bank asks you to confirm in its own app.
- Our own systems are covered by the PCI DSS self-assessment appropriate to a merchant that never touches card data, and are re-assessed annually.
What appears on your statement
Charges appear as PA JEWELLERY followed by your order reference. If you see that descriptor and cannot place it, it is this shop.
When you are charged
- Payment is authorised when you place the order and captured when we dispatch.
- Where an article turns out to be unavailable, we release or refund the amount for it in full and dispatch the rest.
- Nothing is ever charged after the fact. There is no recurring payment to cancel because there is no recurring payment.
Refunds
- Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with. We cannot refund to a different method.
- We process refunds within 14 days of receiving cancelled goods back, or of your evidence of posting — see returns.
- Your issuer then takes its own time, usually three to five working days, to show the credit.
- Engraved articles are excluded from the 14-day right to cancel. They remain refundable if faulty, not as described, or engraved differently from what you ordered.
If you do not recognise a charge
Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank — we can usually identify the order within a few minutes and refund it on the spot if it was a mistake.

If you do raise a chargeback, we will supply the card scheme with the order record, the delivery tracking and the signed proof of delivery. We do not contest disputes where the customer is plainly right.
Fraud prevention
Our payment provider screens transactions for fraud, which is a legitimate interest under the UK GDPR and is described in our privacy notice. We may occasionally ask you to confirm your identity or use a billing address that matches your card before dispatching a high-value order. We would rather delay one order than send someone else’s gold to the wrong address.
Automated attempts to test card numbers against this checkout are blocked and reported.
What we sell — and do not
This is a retail shop selling finished consumer accessories — cufflinks, tie bars, signet rings, dress studs and chains — made of sterling silver, 9ct gold and base metals, for personal wear.
We do not, on this site or anywhere:
- sell bullion, coins, ingots, grain or any form of investment precious metal;
- buy precious metal from the public, or operate a scrap or cash-for-gold service;
- offer credit, instalments, deferred payment or any regulated financial product;
- hold customer funds, operate a stored balance, or process payments for anyone else;
- make any representation that an article holds its value or will appreciate.
P .A. JEWELLERY LIMITED is a Private Limited Company registered in England and Wales. Its registered SIC activity is the retail sale of watches and jewellery in specialised stores, which is what this shop does.
